If you’re facing issues with your MacBook Pro keyboard, trackpad, or battery, you’re in the right place. In this detailed tutorial, I’ll guide you through the process of replacing the entire keyboard assembly on a MacBook Pro, including the battery and trackpad. Let’s dive in!

Step 1: Identify Your MacBook Model Before we begin, it’s crucial to identify your MacBook model. In this tutorial, we’ll be working with a MacBook Pro model A1708. Knowing your model number will ensure you’re following the correct repair steps.

Step 2: Gather the Necessary Tools You’ll need specific tools for this repair, including a Pentalobe screwdriver (size P5), a Torx screwdriver (sizes T3, T5, T8), a plastic prying tool, and possibly a Phillips screwdriver. Ensure you have all the tools handy before starting the repair.

Step 3: Remove the Bottom Cover Using the Pentalobe screwdriver, remove the screws at the bottom of the MacBook Pro. Remember, these screws may vary in size, so keep track of their placement or take reference photos to aid reassembly.

Step 4: Pry Open the Cover Carefully use a plastic prying tool to lift the bottom cover, releasing the clips holding it in place. Be gentle to avoid damaging the clips or the cover. Once loose, slide the cover down to remove it completely.

Step 5: Disconnect the Battery Locate the battery connector and carefully disconnect it using a Torx screwdriver (size T5). Remember to handle the delicate connector with care to avoid damage.

Step 6: Remove the Components Start by removing screws and brackets holding components like the Wi-Fi antenna, LCD board, and speakers in place. Keep track of the screws’ sizes and placements for reassembly later.

Step 7: Disconnect Cables and Remove Components Carefully disconnect cables and remove components such as the CPU fan, speakers, and motherboard. Take your time to ensure all components are safely disconnected and removed from the MacBook Pro.

Step 8: Transfer Components to the New Keyboard Assembly If replacing the entire keyboard assembly, transfer components like the motherboard, CPU fan, and speakers to the new assembly. Ensure everything is correctly aligned and securely attached.

Step 9: Reconnect Cables and Reassemble Carefully reconnect cables in the reverse order of removal, ensuring they are properly aligned and seated. Reassemble the MacBook Pro by securing screws, brackets, and components in their respective places.

Step 10: Test and Verify Before fully reassembling the MacBook Pro, perform a quick test to ensure everything is functioning correctly. Power on the device and verify that the keyboard, trackpad, and other components are working as expected.

Conclusion: Congratulations! You’ve successfully replaced the keyboard assembly on your MacBook Pro. With patience, attention to detail, and the right tools, this repair is entirely achievable for most users. If you encounter any difficulties during the process, don’t hesitate to seek professional assistance. Thanks for watching, and happy repairing!

That’s all for now. Bye

Title: How to Recover Data from a Broken Laptop Using a USB M.2 SSD Adapter

Introduction:

“Hi, welcome! Simon here. Hope you’re doing well. If you’re looking to recover data from a broken laptop, this is the video for you. You’ll need a USB M.2 SSD adapter, which allows you to read the M.2 SSD drive like an external thumb drive. Let’s get started.”

Steps to Recover Data:

Prepare the Laptop:

Remove the rubber feet from the bottom of the laptop to access the hidden screws.

Remove the Screws:

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four black screws on the top, two screws in the middle, and two more screws at the very bottom center.

Open the Laptop:

Use a metal prying tool to gently pry open the seam between the palm rest and the bottom case.

Switch to a plastic prying tool to avoid scratching the computer, and continue to work around the edges to remove the back cover.

Locate and Remove the M.2 SSD:

Locate the M.2 SSD in the bottom right corner of the laptop.

Remove the securing screw and slide the SSD out at a 45-degree angle.

Use the USB M.2 SSD Adapter:

Insert the M.2 SSD into the USB adapter.

Plug the adapter into a different computer. The SSD will function as an external USB drive, allowing you to recover your data.

Additional Information:

“If you’re not sure where to buy the USB adapter, check the link in the description below. I’ll direct you to either Amazon or eBay where you can find the adapter and any necessary tools.”

Conclusion:

“Hopefully, this video is helpful. Thanks for watching! Until next time, bye now.”

Title: How to Change the Hard Drive on an HP Laptop

Introduction:

“Hi, welcome! Simon here. Hope you’re doing well. In this video, I’ll be changing out the hard drive on an HP laptop. Before we start, I’ll explain the background of the issue.”

Background:

Problem: The computer randomly shows a blue screen with a sad face, even during simple tasks like checking emails. It sometimes freezes completely, with no response from the mouse, keyboard, or cursor.

Initial Steps: Performed a factory reset, erasing all data, but the problem persisted, suggesting it might not be a software issue.

Next Step: Change the hard drive to see if that resolves the issue.

Steps to Change the Hard Drive:

Identify the Laptop Model:

HP NB X360 2-in-1 Laptop 15-ee0023DX

Gather Tools:

Use a Torx T5 screwdriver (or T4 if available).

Remove the Back Cover:

Remove the four screws holding the back cover.

Use a metal prying tool to find an opening, then switch to a plastic prying tool to avoid scratching the metal. Pry around to remove the back cover.

Locate and Remove the Hard Drive:

The hard drive is at the bottom left.

Use a Phillips screwdriver (PH1) to remove the two screws holding the hard drive bracket.

Slide the hard drive bracket towards your body to remove it.

Remove the M.2 SSD from the bracket.

Install the New Hard Drive:

Insert the new M.2 SSD (512GB) at a 45-degree angle and push it in.

Secure it with the screws and replace the bracket.

Reassemble the Laptop:

Align the back cover at the bottom and press down to clip it back in place.

Replace and tighten the screws.

Optional Data Recovery:

Use a USB M.2 adapter to recover data from the old SSD. Insert the old SSD into the adapter, secure it with a rubber band, and plug it into another computer to act as a USB drive.

Conclusion:

“After replacing the hard drive, you’ll need to install Windows. You can use a Windows 10 USB installer or create your own using the Microsoft media creation tool. If you found this video helpful, please comment below and let me know how it went. Don’t forget to click on YouTube Super Thanks to show your support. Thanks for watching! Bye now.”

Title: How to Add More RAM to an Acer Predator Gaming Laptop

Introduction:

“Hi, welcome! Simon here. Hope you’re doing well. In this video, I’ll be adding more RAM to this Acer Predator gaming laptop. If your computer feels sluggish, especially with multitasking or tasks like photo editing, adding more RAM can help improve performance. Let’s walk through the process.”

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Back Cover:

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all screws from the back cover.

Use a metal priming tool to find a weak spot and carefully pry open the back cover. Remove it completely.

Locate the RAM Slots:

Identify the two RAM slots on the motherboard. Currently, both slots have 8GB RAM each, totaling 16GB.

Remove the Existing RAM:

Push the two metal clips on each side of the RAM module away from the RAM to release it.

Once released, the RAM will pop up to a 45-degree angle. Slide it out gently.

Identify RAM Type:

The existing RAM is DDR4, indicated by “PC4” on the module. Each module is 8GB.

Install New RAM:

Insert the new RAM module at a 45-degree angle into the slot.

Push it down until the clips lock the RAM module securely in place. You can upgrade to 16GB in each slot, totaling 32GB.

Reassemble the Laptop:

Replace the back cover and secure it with the screws.

Turn on the laptop to ensure it recognizes the new RAM. You should see an increase in total RAM.

Optional Storage Upgrade:

To add more storage, remove the bracket covering the M.2 slot and install an additional M.2 SSD.

Conclusion:

“That’s it! It’s a simple and straightforward process. If you need to buy DDR4 RAM, check the links in the description below for Amazon or eBay. Thanks for watching. If you found this video helpful, please like, subscribe, and leave a comment. Until next time, bye!”

Title: How to Replace the Screen on an Acer Nitro V15 Laptop

Introduction:

“Hi, welcome! Simon here. Hope you’re doing well. In this video, I’ll be replacing the screen on an Acer Nitro V15. Unfortunately, I couldn’t film the screen removal, but I’ll walk you through the process and show you how to install the new screen.”

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Battery:

Disconnect and remove the battery using a Phillips screwdriver to remove all screws securing the back cover.

Slide the battery connector out gently. Note that Acer’s design doesn’t secure the battery with screws, so the back cover holds it in place.

Prepare for Screen Removal:

Reattach the back cover to protect the motherboard during the screen removal.

Use a metal priming tool to carefully pry off the bezel, which is clipped onto the screen.

Remove Adhesive Tape:

Locate and remove the double-sided adhesive tape on the top left and right corners of the screen using tweezers.

Be cautious as removing the last piece of tape can cause the screen to detach suddenly.

Disconnect the Screen:

Gently peel off the tape securing the connector.

Flip open the connector clip and slide out the LCD cable to free the screen.

Install the New Screen:

Verify the new screen model for compatibility.

Slide the 40-pin connector into the new screen and secure it with the clip and tape.

Reapply double-sided adhesive tape to secure the new screen in place, matching the original positions.

Reattach the Battery and Test:

Reconnect the battery and verify the screen works by turning on the laptop.

Ensure the display is functioning correctly before proceeding.

Reassemble the Laptop:

Reattach the bezel by pressing it down all around the edges until it clicks into place.

Replace the back cover and secure it with screws.

Conclusion:

“That’s it! Hopefully, this video was helpful. If you need to purchase a replacement screen or double-sided tape, check the links in the description.
Video Transcript: Fixing the Power Button on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series

Introduction

Hi, welcome. Simon here. Hope you’re doing well. In this video, I’ll try to fix the power button on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series.

Problem Description

In my case, the power button doesn’t have that click feeling, and it seems to be sunk in. It’s not powering on the laptop reliably. Sometimes it does power on if you press on the exact spot, but it’s tricky. Also, I noticed that when I shake the laptop, I can hear something rattling inside, which could be a piece of plastic or a loose screw related to the power button.

Disassembly

Alright, let’s get right into it. First, let’s identify the model. This is the Inspiron 3593 or P75F.

Removing Screws:

Use a Phillips screwdriver to start removing the screws.

The top left and right screws don’t come off completely.

The middle screw and another one on the side do come off. Be sure to pay attention to the screws and their sizes to avoid mix-ups during reassembly.

Prying Open:

Use a metal prying tool to get between the plastic cover and the keyboard/palm rest area.

Switch to a plastic prying tool to avoid damaging the plastic parts.

Carefully work your way around to crack it open.

Inspection and Repair

Inspecting Inside:

After removing the back cover, let’s focus on the top left corner where the power button is.

I noticed a broken piece of plastic running around, which seems to be a part of the power button mechanism.

Removing Obstructions:

Unscrew any screws holding down the power button board.

Remove any wires if necessary to get better access.

Identifying the Issue:

I found that the screw bracket holding the power button is broken.

The small piece of plastic that clicks on the switch is also detached.

Fixing the Broken Bracket:

I’ll use super glue (gel type) to fix the broken bracket.

Apply a tiny drop of glue to avoid any mess and potential damage to the board.

Hold the piece in place for about a minute until the glue sets.

Reassembly

Reassembling the Components:

Reinstall the screws and wires that were removed earlier.

Ensure that all parts are securely in place and the glue has dried.

Reattaching the Back Cover:

Snap the back cover back on by pressing it down and ensuring all clips are secured.

Reinstall all screws, making sure each one goes back in its original place.

Testing the Fix

Testing the Power Button:

Check if the power button now has the click feeling and if it powers on the laptop.

Unfortunately, in this case, the battery is dead, so I can’t demonstrate the power-up. But the button does feel like it’s clicking correctly.

Conclusion

Hi, welcome! Simon here. I’m not sure if I should call this a part two video, but I’ll continue from the first one. I just want to jump right in and explain what happened in the previous video.

In the earlier video, I showed how to remove the back cover and explained the issue with the original hard drive. This is the 1TB Western Digital drive that came with the computer. I was getting a blue screen every time I turned on the computer. It would try to load, diagnose the problem, and then show a sad face on a blue screen. Sometimes, I would get a message saying “no boot device found” or “hard drive error.” If you’re seeing these messages, it’s likely that the m.2 drive is bad.

I explained how to retrieve the data using one of these USB adapters. I’ll link it in the description below where you can buy it from Amazon or eBay. I ran a test on a workbench computer and found bad sectors on the disk, meaning some sectors were corrupted. So, I’ll be replacing this with a Crucial 1TB m.2 drive. I was able to recover the data, which is a good sign.

In this video, I’ll install the new hard drive and possibly Windows. I’m not sure if I’ll show the Windows installation on camera, but I’ll need to install Windows on the new hard drive for it to start up properly.

The new hard drive comes with a mounting screw, which is nice. I don’t think I’ll need it for this purpose, but I’ll save it anyway. To install, just slide it in at a 45-degree angle. Place the heat sink back on top.

Now, I’ll put the two screws back that came from the computer.

Okay, that should be it. I’ll walk you through the process. You might need to buy a Windows 10 or Windows 11 USB installer. If you don’t want to buy it, you can make your own. If you buy it, you’re buying the license for Windows, which the computer already has. So, technically, you don’t need to buy it. You can go to the Microsoft website—I’ll link it in the description below—or you can Google “Windows 10 Media Creation Tool” to create your own installer.

Thanks for watching. Until next time, bye now!

Hi, welcome! Let’s take a look at this computer. This is an Acer Predator. Let’s turn it on and see what’s happening.

The computer turns on, which is a good sign. It seems to be trying to start up; you can see the loading screen spinning.

To give you some background, according to my client, the computer tries to start up, goes to a blue screen, reboots itself, and then shows “no boot device found.” This likely indicates a failing hard drive. Right now, it seems the hard drive is being detected, but it’s encountering issues while loading, resulting in a blue screen and rebooting.

It’s attempting an automatic repair, which means it can somewhat see the hard drive. During the BIOS and POST (Power On Self Test), it sometimes reports “no boot device found” or a hard drive error. Although we haven’t seen that message yet, I believe something is wrong with the hard drive.

Let’s go ahead and click “Restart” and see what happens next.

Given these issues, I’ll likely need to change out the hard drive and perform a fresh install of Windows. If it continues to boot loop, I’ll press and hold the power button to shut it off.

Let’s identify the model here. It’s N1 1813, or more specifically, PH317-54-D70YD. I’ll be using a regular Phillips screwdriver (PH1) to remove all the screws and identify the hard drive to see what’s going on.

Since the computer can somewhat detect the hard drive and attempts to boot Windows, the hard drive may not be completely bad. It might just need a Windows reinstallation. To determine this, I’ll remove the hard drive.

I’ll remove the m.2 SSD drive using this USB adapter, which reads the m.2 SSD. I’ll use a workstation to run a stress test on the drive, checking for read and write errors and any bad sectors.

It looks like all the screws are the same size, so I’m not worried about mixing them up. Once all the screws are removed, the back cover will pop right off.

There’s a slot for the m.2 here and an empty secondary slot where you can add another m.2 drive. This computer uses DDR4 RAM. I’ll make a separate video on adding an additional m.2 drive. If you’re interested, check the link in the description or visit my channel.

For now, I’ll remove the hard drive and run tests using my USB adapter. I won’t be able to show you this part in the video since I’ll need to use another workstation for diagnostics. I’ll remove the bracket and the m.2 drive. The thermal pad helps conduct heat away from the drive. Slide the drive to the left to remove it.

I’ll use the USB reader to back up the data before running diagnostics and stress tests on the m.2 drive. This computer has trouble booting into Windows, and I’ve seen “boot device not found” errors, likely referring to the hard drive.

Thanks for watching. Until next time, bye now!
