Tools and Parts Needed

• Pentalobe 0.8 screwdriver
• Metal prying tool
• Replacement screen (links for purchase in the description)

Steps for Screen Replacement

1. Preparing the iPhone

• Ensure the iPhone is powered off.
• Remove the two screws at the bottom of the iPhone using the Pentalobe screwdriver.

2. Removing the Bezel and Cutting the Adhesive

• Use the metal prying tool to gently cut through the adhesive around the screen. This adhesive is part of the water-resistant seal.

3. Disconnecting the Battery and Screen

• Carefully open the screen to the right side.
• Notice the water damage indicators (red color) if present.
• Use a Y000 (Tri-point) screwdriver to remove the bracket over the battery and screen connectors.
• Disconnect the battery (third connector from the right).
• Disconnect the LCD and digitizer cables (second and first from the right).

4. Removing the Proximity Sensor

• Remove screws holding the proximity sensor and front camera in place.
• Carefully transfer the entire assembly to the new screen.

5. Installing the New Screen

• Align the new screen and reconnect the digitizer, LCD, and battery cables.
• Replace the bracket and screws over the connectors.
• Slide the top of the screen into the frame first, then press the sides and bottom back into place.

6. Final Steps

• Replace the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom.
• Power on the iPhone to test the new screen.
