Dell XPS 8940 3D Benchmark Test

Hello everyone, Simon here. Today, I’m conducting a 3D benchmark test on the Dell XPS 8940.

Key Specifications

• Processor: Intel 11th Gen i7 at 2.5 GHz.
• RAM: 16 GB, upgradeable to 32 GB.
• Storage: 512 GB M.2 NVMe drive.
• Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Testing and Observations

• The graphics card is built-in, integrated with the CPU.
• Ideal for basic daily tasks like emails, spreadsheets, light gaming (e.g., Minecraft, Roblox), and social media.
• Not suitable for intensive gaming or heavy graphic design work (e.g., 3D AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop).

Benchmark Process

• Running the 3D Mark test to evaluate the performance.
• The test visibly shows lag and jerkiness, indicating the graphics aren’t smooth.

Results Analysis

• CPU Score: Excellent, around 7000, which is expected from an Intel i7.
• Graphics Score: Low, at 618, reflecting the limitations of the built-in graphics.

Conclusions

• The Dell XPS 8940 is a mid-range, upper-entry-level desktop, great for everyday use but not for heavy-duty gaming or professional graphics work.
